Jesse Muscatello
Psychologist
MPsych (Clinical) MAPS
Jesse is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is eligible for clinical endorsement while practicing as a Clinical Psychology Registrar.
Jesse has several years of experience across public mental health settings and private practice. He also works in a teaching capacity at Victoria University, across Bachelor’s and Master’s level psychology and counselling subjects.
Acknowledging the complexity of desiring change and not knowing where to start, Jesse prioritises the development of a strong therapeutic relationship. He builds trust by maintaining a person-centred, empathetic, and non-judgmental therapeutic style.
Informed by ISTDP principles, Jesse adopts a psychodynamic approach to facilitate an in-depth exploration of emotional struggles, fostering insight and resolution of internal conflicts, and promoting personal growth and psychological well-being.
Jesse addresses a variety of presentations and problems, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress management, anger, trauma, life adjustments, grief, emotional dysregulation, ADHD, perfectionism, self-esteem challenges, and more. He focuses on understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms, to create lasting change and healing.
With a special interest in the psychology of athletes and individuals in high-performance domains, Jesse delves beyond cognitive and behavioral processes to understand and resolve deeper conflicts that may inhibit performance.
Jesse works from our Melbourne-based offices at 33 Drummond Street, Carlton.
