Our Fees

We value transparency in our fee structures and are committed to providing fair and accurate rates that reflect the qualifications and expertise of our practitioners. Our team has a wide range of experience and qualifications, ensuring that you receive quality care tailored to your needs.

Our fees are informed by the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2023-2024 and are set below the recommended rates.
Standard fees vary based on the practitioner and the time of appointments, with differences between during hours and after-hours appointment fees.

For personalised information on our fees, please discuss your needs when scheduling your appointment.

Low-Cost Appointments

We believe that mental health care should be accessible to everyone. To support individuals facing financial hardship, we offer a limited number of low-cost appointments. These sessions are designed to provide effective therapy while alleviating the financial burden for those in need.

Our low-cost fee ranges from $80.00 to $50.00 per session, depending on the therapist you see. Learn more here.

Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy

As Australia’s largest private practice focusing on Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), all our clinical and general psychologists have undergone additional professional development in ISTDP and may use ISTDP techniques during therapy where appropriate.

ISTDP is a complex therapeutic technique that requires 3-5 years of training to learn. In learning, therapists are required to show video of their work for purposes of training and development.

These videos are treated with strict confidentiality, in the same way session notes are stored. Identifying information is removed.

Not all of our therapists do not require video consent from their clients.

You are always welcome to decline video recording if your therapist brings it up.
For ISTDP therapy, the initial appointment is at least 90-minutes. Learn more about ISTDP here.

Non-ISTDP Therapy

In addition to learning ISTDP, our therapists are also trained in other modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR Therapy and Schema Therapy.

To meet the diverse requests of our clients, we’ve assembled a team of mental health professionals skilled in various therapeutic approaches, not just ISTDP.

You can find the specific types of therapy each therapist practices on their individual profile pages.

Medicare Rebates

Medicare provides rebates to help offset the cost of psychological services, making therapy more affordable for eligible clients. Here are the current rebate amounts:

  • Clinical Psychologist: $137.05 per session
  • General Psychologist: $93.35 per session
  • Social Worker: $82.30 per session

You are eligible for up to 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and a referral from a General Practitioner (GP). The process works as follows:

  1. Initial Referral: Your GP can provide a referral that covers an initial six sessions.
  2. Review and Additional Sessions: After the initial six sessions, your GP will review your progress and can provide a referral for an additional four sessions, bringing the total to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Please note that Medicare rebates cannot be processed for unattended sessions. Make sure to attend your scheduled appointments or provide adequate notice if you need to reschedule to avoid missing out on your rebates.

Private Health Insurance

We accept private health insurance to help make our services more affordable. For your convenience, we can process on-the-spot claims for most of our clinical psychologists, general psychologists, and social workers through our HICAPS machine at reception.

Using your private health insurance for psychology services can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. Coverage and rebates vary depending on your insurance provider and plan, so please check with your insurer for specific details about your benefits.

Third Party Payment Providers

Some of our practitioners accept third-party payments, including WorkSafe and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). These arrangements can help make accessing psychological services more affordable for eligible clients.

Please be aware that there may be an out-of-pocket expense not covered by your third-party payment provider. We recommend discussing these details with your provider to understand your coverage and any potential additional costs.
